On May 23-24, 2024, BioPlusMine conducted a Basic Journalism Skills Training (BJST) at Pontino Elementary School (PES) in Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet. Twenty enthusiastic learners from PES and Sto. Nino Elementary School (SNES) delved into the world of journalism. They explored the fundamentals, roles, and principles of journalism, mastering news writing, feature writing, editorial cartooning, and photojournalism.

📣 #BioPlusMineUpdate 📣

The Bio+Mine team, in collaboration with the Sto. Niño Community, has successfully installed limestone-based passive treatment technology on an identified acid mine drainage site in Sitio Sto. Niño, Barangay Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet. Researchers are now assessing the technology’s performance by collecting water samples.

Acid mine drainage (AMD) is characterized by low pH and high concentrations of dissolved metals. Our treatment system aims to neutralize AMD by increasing its pH and reducing metal concentrations through limestone leaching. Stay tuned for updates on our progress! #BioPlusMine
