Daegu, South Korea<\/em> \u2013 The Bio+Mine Water Team presented papers at the International Water Association (IWA) 20th<\/sup> International Conference on Diffuse Pollution & Eutrophication (DIPCON 2023) on 6-8 December 2023 at Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center in South Korea. The conference is part of the Korea International Water Week 2023, an annual gathering of stakeholders involved in addressing global water challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bio+Mine team presented the design and deployment of limestone leach beds for passive treatment of the acid mine drainage in Sto. Ni\u00f1o, Tublay, Benguet. The limestone leach beds were installed on 31 October – 3 November following the consent of and agreement with the Indigenous Peoples\u2019 leaders and local community. Data presented included the regular monitoring of the water pH, oxidation-reduction potential, temperature, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
